PADI Deep Diver Courses at Divers Unlimited

The purpose of the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course is to familiarise you with the skills, knowledge, planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of conducting dives between the depths of 18 metres/60 feet and 39.5 metres/130 feet.

During the course you will learn all about the procedures and specialised safety equipment especially important to deep diving. You will learn about how depth affects the human body, and what special considerations need to be addressed. You will go into more depth on decompression theory and the effects of narcosis. Do you know how a recompression chamber works? Well this is covered as part of the course!

There is also a review of the PADI Recreational Dive Planner and Dive Computers, as well as practical training exercises during the open water dives. This course is a must for all serious divers looking to extend their depth range and their experience!

What do I need to start?
PADI Adventure Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
Minimum age: 15 years old

What will I do?
You'll learn deep dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards. You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on four open water dives that range from 18-30 metres/60-100 feet.

How long will it take?
Minimum Open Water Training: four dives over two days

Where can I go from here?
You can count the Deep Adventure Dive from your Adventures In Diving program as the first dive of the Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty course certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for Master Scuba Diver certification.
